Break lines not complete

Hello,

I am using Revit LT 2013 and my Break Line only breaks half of a simple detail line not both. I flipped it around a few times and the unbroken line segment stays with it. It works totally correct with my walls. What's my fix?

Thanks!

Can you show a screenshot of it?

How's this?

That looks normal.  It masks the line exactly how it does the wall.  I am not sure I understand your problem.  Do you want to remove the segment marked below too?

Yes, that is what I'm wanting to do.

That is how it should work because that segment is within the unmasked side.

Anyhow, you could edit the family and add a mask on the other side but it might not work well when you use it on something like a wall, a floor, or a hatch pattern. Maybe add a visibility checkbox to turn it on only when you need it.

To be honest I would just leave it as is.

I'm not entirely sure I'm understanding correctly...

Is that break line right on the edge of a wall/slab/whatever? Why do you need to break something that stops right there anyway? Move your break line up a bit, and widen it to cover the full width of the wall/slab/whatever. Then it will look properly broken (breaked?).

Chris,

You nailed it! I moved it up and widened it out and got a better understanding of how this works. I stopped short and added detail lines to make up the difference on each side. Reviit is great but so much to learn!

Thanks

Glad to have helped.

Yes, Revit requires a big learning curve. Am completely self taught myself, having watched untold hours of youtube videos and spent an equal amount of time on this forum. It isn't just "drawing."
