Board & Batten Siding

What is the process to get materials such as "Board & Batten" or Channel"  siding to go vertical instead of horizontal? I try rotating the surface pattern but it didn't work for me? 

Also is it possible to change the board widths?

The surface pattern must be a model pattern, not a drafting pattern in
order to do what you want.

OK, that worked for my 6" vertical lines. I got the looks I wanted in everything but the realistic style shows no lines? I'm using the "Wood Dimensional Lumber" for the appearance.

Thanks so much! I was heading in that direction but didn't know how to safely proceed. I'll keep you posted.

P.S.    This Revit material "thing" reminds me of my early Dynamic Block days! I could almost see a sub-forum for this?
