Blank/Empty Keynote Tag

We have a couple of projects now that have had issues with keynotes, particularly links. We generally use links for typical units (hotel guest rooms, unit layouts) that repeat in a building. There have been a few instances where the keynote shows up blank. We have tried to re-link the keynote file and it does not seem to work.

What is even more strange is that in some cases, the keynotes are blank in the Unit link file but display correctly in the building file that hosts the link. In another case, the keynote is blank in the building host file and works correctly in the link file. The data is being extracted correctly in the family, but does not pull through in the keynote. Some of the links behave correctly, but others do not.

This occurs in both a project that is done on a local server and one that is hosted in the Collaboration For Revit Cloud.

Anyone have a solution for this?

if you have repeating or typical layouts wouldn't using groups (of those typicals) in your model work better for you than linking them?

the keynotes applied in your model should work better also.

We have found groups in general to be problematic, especially with walls and certain face based families or groups that are mirrored. If there is an issue with a specific group, you end up with the message stating that a new group will be created or it has to be ungrouped which destroys the concept of using them in the first place.

Not sure if it's related, but doesn't hurt to check.

Place keynotes on elements in a linked model
