I have a problem with black materials in my 3D views showing as grey on elevation views.
I have set all settings in my view templates to the same values on both 3D and elevation views and both use realistic visual styles.
I hope someone knows some sort of solution to this issue. Because clients keep contacting us about the color inconsistancy, to make sure we haven't forgotten the color they wanted doors and such to be.

… hi @Anonymous
… well … that depends on the angle of the sun light
… depends on the actual material applied
… the settings of the black material
… if it is glossy or matte or semi …
… also depends on the angle of the image
… maybe you are using a glossy one?
… for the black image/color inside your families or elements
... you can try something like these settings
... to get a black / black reflection
... use a wall paint ... not wood paint ... eggshell ... brushed ... RGB 18 18 18
... could be in realistic view or any other one
... the result image will not change
... only maybe if your sun settings are too extreme
... or your lightning settings in general are too bright / high
… no matter the angle ... or the 3dview , elevation ... you should be looking at black black
… if not …. upload your project to take a look

Hi,
Wont say that this is the way to go, but we use a workaraound for this same issue:
Try opening the graphic display options (GD) in any specific view and try playing around with the lighting options. as a rule of thumb, the isometric view has more ambient shadows and thus shows as darker than the elevation views, so adding in some ambient lights will hopefully fix the issue.
Cheers
