Hi
I have some issue with my model in revit 2017.
some of my elements have black lines attached to them.
like in the photo, some beams are OK, and some have black lines that.
what are they? and how can I delete them?
Being that we're looking at beams in course detail view, I'd say the black stick symbol is defined to be black through object styles. Go to that beam's family and verify it's stick symbol's sub-category, and then look for that sub-category under Object Styles in the project. Betcha it's black.
...Another reason it's shown black, is because it's overlapping other beams...or, it's phased differently...or...(more to come)
You can't delete them, as they are part of the beams...
You can turn them off in VG by unchecking "Show Analytical model categories in this view" under the Analytical Model Categories tab...
But those black lines are there so you can see where the connections are focusing on for loads.
@Anonymous : Actually you can delete the stick symbol from the family. If you do though, you need to change the visability settings so that there is something visible in Course View. All the model elements are invisible in course view presently.
Some, yes. A lot of OOTB framing the stick symbol is built into the system though....try opening a W or T Beam and see if you can find the stick symbol...
Custom beams will have the stick symbol shown and you can delete them...trusses too.
I stand corrected @Anonymous. You're absolutely right.
Well then, in those kind of families, I would change "Symbolic Representation" (under Properties) to "From Family" (the default is "From Project Settings").
