Don't bind them then. You would need a monster computer to handle a 10GB file, given it was even possible to bind.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting on the Revit Architecture forum.

Can you share a screenshot of the error that pops up?

Hi @Anonymous

When you open the link separately do you receive any error message?

Did you try an audit?

No error for separate file.

Thank you for reply.

Hi @Anonymous

So it looks like the issue is the file size.

Did the Audit help? If it does not please work on optimizing the file size to improve model performance.

The issue is not model size. The user said 1-GB, but she made a mistake, this is clearly the default error on 10MB (not GB) as shown in her illustration.

The current process for files that cannot be binded in Revit is not fleshed out enough. Unlike other errors, Revit does not give us any useful information on troubleshooting the issue. We are told to delete elements until things are better, but if we have millions of elements.... What are we supposed to do.

Revit should focus on telling us what is wrong instead of the generic unhelpful message like 'unable to bind the selected link'.

Agree!

This message doesn't add to the solution...

Somewhere else it is stated that it might be possible to find the cause of the error in the journal file.

So far I was unsuccessful at finding any helpful information there either.
