Bim360 File Acccess

Hi guys,

I have been invited and accepted to be a part of a Bim360 project. But I can't access in see the attached picture.

Is the reason that I'm missing something or do I have to have a Collab Pro?

The screen capture that you show is from BIM 360, correct? What about from Revit? Did you try opening or link that model from Revit? Do you have a license of BIM 360 Design / Collaboration? Has that license been assigned to you already by your IT manager or administrator of your Autodesk account? Has the administrator of the BIM 360 hub set up editor's permissions for you in that folder? Do you have the correct version of Revit for the project?

No this is from Revit Audotesk Docs actually.

I have a license I'm not quite sure abut Bim. What would I need to work in collab through cloud in Bim?

@Alfredo_Medina

I have the actual Revit License and the Bim Collaborate seat as far as I could tell in my Products and Sevices.

The file I'm trying to access is not uploaded by me and they have given me access to edit and everything. I don't know why it's greyed out, I fear I must be missing something.

It looks like on your side everything is OK. Perhaps the problem is in that model. I remember seeing a model "grayed out" in BIM360 when the version of that model was an old version (before BIM360 even existed, like 2013). Could that be the reason in this case? Try to initiate another model, or ask the other party to initiate another model, and see what happens.

BIM Collaborate is basically for Reviewer ... in your OP you mentioned that they gave you full access which implies Authoring. In such case you need to have a license/seat for BIM Collaborate PRO assigned to you (and of course the proper permission)

I feared it could be this. I think you are right, since I don't have the collaborate pro. If you could kindly tell me what's the difference between collaborate and collaborate pro, and approximately how much it is?

It think the difference around 200-250 (per annual)...You can check it on Autodesk's

Or best check with your account manager...prices might differ if from a partner/reseller (At least here they do)
