BIM Workflow for City Planning

Hello everyone, My name is Juan Moreno, I work for a company called "Empresa de Desarrollo Urbano" (EDU) in Medellín Colombia, we are a public institution in charge of desinging public spaces and buildings, as well as infrastructure.

We have been trying to implement BIM inside and outside with our contractors, and we still making our best effort to achieve the goal of developint all our Urban projects in BIM methodology. Now we have a big challenge and it is to integrate BIM with the city planning. We have a master plan to ejecute in this city and it consist in modeling Bikeways, Roads, Sidewalks, etc. with the maximun Level of detail.

Right now we have the Master Collection Suite 2017 including infraworks which is being used in cadastral modeling of every property of the city by vinculating this platform to a SIG database. Well, now we have to include this movility masterplan to our workflow but we are discusing on What is the best way to manage this kind of projects.

We have thought of making the global intervention in Civil 3d or Infraworks, and modeling some portions of the infrastructure with Revit as "Details" to be able to estimate a cost and give schedules and budget reports.

I would like to ask the community and the community managers to advise us which could be the best solution to this kind of situations, the intention is to have real BIM and not to relapse in reprocessing.

We have the desings in Autocad and we want to evolve.

Thanks a lot

Saludos, @Jsmy91 ,  bienvenido  / welcome to the forum.

I suggest that you post your question in the Infraworks forum, considering that you have the suite that includes these two applications, and that those applications are more appropriate for this task. In Infraworks you can do all the urban planning and then export the design to Civil 3d for the final drawings. Revit will be more appropriate for facilities, not for this type of task.
