BIM Models - Cranes, Formworks, Scaffolds, and others...

Bim Models - Auxiliary elements.png

The auxiliary elements must also be modeled, their configuration within the BIM model must be coordinated with the planning and construction team. (Formwork and temporary supports, scaffolding, cranes, soil machineries and others). In this way, during the optimization process of the construction sequence (through 4D from the design phase) we reduce the possible omissions on the gantt chart, of auxiliary activities of great importance for the execution of the works on site.

It even improves the forecast for circulation routes for the flow of personnel, materials, machinery and equipment, as well as areas of temporary storage of materials, and control of occupation of spaces between the different sub contractors.

I’d rather use Navisworks for that. The  Animator tool can help you visualize  those auxiliary elements in motion within your model and brings your imagination to life :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht: For example you can have your cranes rotate, machinery and construction equipment move through the site and the areas for material storage and temporary constructions defined … helping the GC to create a virtual simulation of the whole project activates in the 4th dimension.

yes, of course..! but.. when the constructión team receive the bim model to construct.. into the bim workflows... they have to add the auxiliary elements as such as bim objects with parameters... I prefer to do it in Autodesk Revit... So, after that.. I can to do the bim 4d in Navisworks..!

Depending on the requirement for the analysis, the modeling of these elements can range from schematic forms to models in greater detail. You can solve this through the families of revit .. I do not know if there is any application for it..!

What is the purpose of the thread? Information only, or is there a question?

Well, I have been appointed by my company to search how to implement BIM and Revit so I am interested on it. There is nothing, or can't find anything interesting on the internet, about scaffolding.

So basically, I would like to know what the experts think about designing scaffolds on Revit.

I couldn't find any family for the purpose. I have even asked the manufacturers and they are doing nothing so it is very hard nowadays.
