Dear all,
I am currently looking to purchase a couple of high end workstations for my users for BIM work. Can anyone of you suggest a few good models and what are the specific things that I should look out for ( Processor, RAM, GPU?) when purchasing those workstations?
My users currently are using mostly HP Z440 models and we are looking to upgrade them as a couple of them have been giving feedback regarding the poor performance and slow file opening ever since they started using Revit 2018 and my management is keen to try to upgrade a few workstations to test it..
As of now, the vendors I have on hand are quoting me Dell Precision Tower 3620 and as well Dell Precision Tower 5820 and I'm looking to see if there are any other recommendations from the experts here.
Any advise on the above matter will be appreciated.
Thank you.

This extensive guide may assist with some of your questions, download the handout rather than watch the presentation: http://au.autodesk.com/au-online/classes-on-demand/class-catalog/classes/year-2017/revit/as125648#ch...
It can get a bit detailed, so you may want to skim through to the essential info and recommendations.
It would help if you specified actual hardware; a model number like "HP Z440" can still have a lot of options. Core count, number of CPUs, processor clock, RAM, and video card are the important bits.

What is your $$$ cap?
Your Autodesk reseller might be another source for this kind of information. Chances are good they're also providing hardware solutions. The technicians at my reseller (CAD Masters) are always happy to advise me.
