Beam System Material Issues

I am trying to place a beam system in a house I am designing and while it is working, I cannot change my beam type to wood joists. The only type of beam it will give me is Steel beams. Does anyone know how to fix this issue or add in a wooden joist beam type for my flooring system? I need this for a work project and this is holding me up.

Did you actually load into the Project the Structural Framing Family/Type that you want to use in the Beam System?

I'm guessing not.  😉

How do I do that? I missing some families that did not download with my software so I'm assuming that's why there are gaps in the materials available and I am not sure how to get those families added in. Still new to this program.

Revit won't auto install the family library now.

If there is no other family you can use. You could edit the Structural Framing, edit the shape of sweep, and change the Material for Model behavior.

Don't forget to save as new name before you load it back to your project.
