thank you a lot it worked, i have a question

1 is it normal that my beams are shorter after i've used "disallow join";

2 how can i avoid this in the future if i have a lot of floor to copy; should i do a copy/past > figure out the joinded beam > undo copy > disallow joined beam then copy/past  ?? or are there another way?

Yes beams have start and end extensions so the overall length can be different between joined and disjoined but you can adjust start and end extensions manually for disjoined condition.  How did you copy from one level to another, did you create a group and copy paste aligned to selected levels or picked levels?

i select every thing > filter what i need to copy > copy to clipboard > Past : Alligned to selected level. > select level

Don't really know the difference between them, I meen that' what the tutorial guy is doing .

Your workflow is correct.

If you choose Paste aligned to select levels then you select the levels from a list; if you choose Paste aligned to picked levels then you pick levels from a section or an elevation.

Regarding the original error, joined beams should be able to copy paste to other levels without issues.  Can you share you model?
