Beam and wall intersection representation in plan

Hello everybody.

I have the following situation: an exterior wood structure connected to an exterior brick wall. The wood element (beam) passes through exterior insulation. The intersection between the 2 elements (wood and insulation) shows both elements. I want the pattern of insulation to be cut by the wood beam.

The cut plane is set through the beam.

I attached 2 images of the situation.

P.S. I want to know if there is a different approach than a masking region like in the following picture.

Edit the beam family and make the beam geometry visible in Coarse View (via Visibility Settings). Then reload beam family into the Project and use Join Geometry tool to join the beam to the wall in the correct join order.  Volume will be removed at union.

...to cut the end of the beam flush against the wall, draw a Ref. Plane at the core layer of the wall in your section view and use the Cut Geometry tool to cut the beam back to the Ref. Plane.
