I'm trying to place baseboard sweeps on my walls, but have a number of questions:
1. Do I have to create different wall types where there is an interior 2x4 wall with baseboard on only one side, and the same interior 2x4 wall but with baseboard on both sides?
2. Or alternativley, is there a way to "hide in view" the baseboard only, on interior elevations?
3. Some of my openings automatically cut the baseboard sweep, but others don't. Is there a way to manually cut just the baseboard, but not the entire wall? This is happening at my exterior sliding door families, where the baseboard runs straight across the opening. FYI, my sliding door sills are below the floor/baseboard level, since I am alighing the top of the finished sill with the finished floor. Don't know if this might be causing the problem. However, if I change this, it messes up my door sizing on my door schedule.
4. Can I use the "edit sweep" tool to turn the baseboard in to the window frame, or does this only work if you are connecting the baseboards on both sides of a wall?
5. Or does it make sense to model the baseboards separately from the walls? Suppose this would be a pain if the walls changed for any reason.
Any help would be much appreciated!
You know, you ask a lot of questions that are the subject of many video tutorials on-line. Have you viewed any of them? They are easy to find; just Google "Revit Wall Sweeps".
...oh, and yes you can control Sweep Visibility independent of Host Wall via View VGOs By Element, By Category and By Filter.
Where do I find that dialog box? I'm using a profile, and when I open the profile, it's a different set of parameters.
Press Wall Sweep (on Architectural Tab under Wall) and then press "Edit Type" on the Properties pallet.

Wall Sweep Type Properties | Revit | Autodesk Knowledge Network
1. You can place wall sweeps using walls > wall sweep tool instead of build it to the wall type.
2. VG > expand Walls subcategories, turn off Wall sweep.
3. Edit wall sweep type and explore it's settings for cut options.
4. you could but it is time consuming. Create window frame in window family.
5. See 1.
Thanks Toan,
Wall Sweeps seems the way to go (didn't know that was an option....sorry, still learning this program!). But my Wall Sweeps command seems to be grayed out. Any idea why?
