backgrounds for consultants export to dwg

our structural consultant likes the floor plan backgrounds to only show the stud layer of the wall. is there an efficient way of doing this? right now I am exporting to dwg and in AutoCAD I am deleting all the lines that represent either the sheathing or finish layer. which is very time consuming.

Hello @jledgewood409,

How is your stud wall setup?

Did you use a curtain wall or did you use a specific family for it?

Objects have Object Styles and geometry in families can be attached to Object Styles.

In the VVisibility Graphic Overrides of a View you want to export, you can turn Object Styles off.

But not all of them. Wall functions can't be turned off but can be exported to a specific layer.

Object Styles can be exported to AutoCAD layers in the layer setting of the DWG export.

In AutoCAD you can Isolate a specific layer (LAYISO) and then delete all elements on that layer or use -LAYDEL to delete the complete layer.

hope this helps a bit

Edit:  looks like @robert.klempau has a much better solution.

It's do-able.  See below:
