o Hi!
I have a system where I have views for PDF export and views for DWG export.
There are some differences between the two, and this is why I need to have them separated like that.
However, I need to have the room tags in both views, and preferably in the same location.
Until now, I copy the tags from the "PDF view" and paste into the "DWG view".
In the long run, this becomes tedious and I wonder if there is a way to automate the process. Macro? Other suggestions?

That was the first thing I tried.
Other stuff that I need to reuse, detail lines and texts, I already have in a group. Works good.
Only room-tags left ![]()
Thanks, but for me, this would mean more steps.
Right now, I have a given views-structure where the PDF-views are in one place, with correct naming convention and their template assigned. Then I have the Export-views with their template.
Then I have the Export-views with their naming convention and template assigned.
Using your method could work like this; I assign a template and I rename them all to the right name one by one.
The current method, copy-pasting all room names is still faster.
Therefore I need another quick solution. Can this be done with Macros, ie one button copies all tags from one view to another? Or one press copies all room tags in view without the need to select, filter, copy, and then paste?
Looking forward to more options.
the tag goes in a place dictated by the 'cross-hairs' of the room..... if the cross hairs is in the place where you want the tag then you could 'tag all' and they would all go to the 'right' place?
or
select one tag - right click - select all in view - copy paste in place to new view? once you have them copied you can place them in all views?
This is the proof of concept script. Best to run it in Revit 2018.2.
Definitely can expand the script to copy from multiple views to another in one click.
I still don't understand why you have to copy room tags from one view to another. Why don't you use Annotate > Tag All > Room Tag again in the new views?
I understand the needs, most of the time, we will need to re-arrange the location of the room tags to another place, specially if the room tags overlapping with an important element on the drawing or the room is very small. Sometime we will need to move them away from the room and place it somewhere more legible.
Room Names should be something you turn on or off, in all views, no matter what phase. Revit missed the game on that one. Archicad does it better.
