Hi,
When starting a new family I often start by resizing then Crop Regions, Reference Planes and View Markers as these influence the "Zoom in Region" commands which I tend to use all the time...
This takes some time - so I wonder if there might be some way to resize them automatically for example
- by providing the estimated size of the component to be modelled when starting a new family
- or by calculating a bounding box around the created objects and resize them to its size
?
Thanks, Dietrich

I don't think there is anyway to automatically adjust those without some programming (via API or maybe Dynamo).
You could edit your family templates and shrink them down to something more reasonable and save the template. That way at least when you start the ref planes and view markers might be more "reasonable" to what you need.

Thank you very much.
So planning ahead, here again, is the way to go ![]()
Currently I first create a dummy volume 1/3 bigger than the dimensions of the object I intent to create and shrink everything manually. A Tool to shrink things automatically to a bounding box would make everything easier, however...

Actually it would be nice to have a [Not solved by] button, which would forward the problem to the TODO list of Revit ![]()
Positive thinking is something good - but thanks to the "Solved By" option lots of interesting ideas for the further development of Revit might get lost...
