Recently our licenses were automatically switched from serial # licenses to sign-in licenses. This created issues with our Revit local project files that were being edited at the time, since the user-ID (Autodesk ID) name automatically changed with the switch, the local files associated with that name made it impossible to synchronize with the central, providing an error: "The project cannot be saved because the user name you are using is not the same as the user who created the local file" in Revit. Is there a way to synchronize a Revit file that is associated with the previous user-id with the central? Unfortunately, we cannot change our user-id (Autodesk ID) name back to the one previously selected.
Opening local files is not recommended. Create new locals every time a project is opened and you will avoid that problem.
Great idea, however it would have been nice if Autodesk would have considered the impact the change would have on their clients. The fact that this was rolled out with no warning, is what kills me. We lost multiple days in production.. sorting out the problem.. very frustrating!
