Hi!

Is there any way to create an automatic showroom of all the families of a file? (It can be done by specific categories) and showing all the types...

I don't know if it is because of the wording, but I have not find anything.

I would like to have something as shown in the attachtments:

You generally write your own scripts for Dynamo. Yea, it allows you to do some things that Revit SHOULD be able to do on its own, but a big reason exists is to do things that have no singular correct way to do. Dynamo allows for users to create a custom process that accomplishes tasks exactly how they'd like. You can try to look around online, but I don't think you'll have much success.

There's never a better way to learn than to have a specific problem you want to address. I wanted to automate the process of making evacuation plans to print for each room in a project. It took me a couple weeks to learn how to use Dynamo and get an initial script done, but I learned a ton through the process and wrote another dozen scripts over the following weeks.

As mentioned above by @mhiserZFHXS, Dynamo is best used and understood when trying to solve your own problem.

I would recommend going through a few basic dynamo scripts and the theory content on the Dynamo Website to understand more.

For your problem, you can then use this as a starting point and modify the script as per requirement : (1) Dynamo Placing Families in one click! - YouTube.

Here the script places a particular family type with spacing. You can use a similar path and try to solve it for all categories.

If this helps please mark the solution 🙂

Thank you all.

I imagine that maybe someone else has an app to do it.

Hi @JML_Mela, at the moment I am not sure if any company has developed a tool for it. You could keep an eye on this Plug-in's future updates: Manage Revit Families and Worksets with FamilyReviser - DiRoots

ChatGPT from Open AI can actually help you write a script. I'm not saying this is the exact script language you need or the nodes that are equivalent in Dynamo, just something to consider.

Thank you!

Actually I need far more knowledge to make a script work. I don’t have any
idea of Dynamo, then I will need to study a little (a lot) more before
doing it, and now, I don’t have the time to do it (even if I would love to).

I have all the families in the file,

I will just start to upload them.

Thanks!
