Automatic Room/Area Tag Leader for Revit 2024

A new feature in 2024 that automatically assigns a Room/Space/Area leader. The workaround .ini file setting to change it back is not working. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

This Link says to set it to 1

Unexpectedly automatic room tag leaders are enabled when altering rooms in Revit (autodesk.com)

However, this link says to set it to 0

Help | Misc Settings in Revit.ini | Autodesk

I tried both values, restarted Revit, rebooted my PC, but no luck.

I have successfully changed the .ini when I had this problem. The page you linked did not exist, before so I used this:
Solved: Re: Room Tag behavior when moving Rooms - Autodesk Community - Revit Products

Per that post, these were the instructions:

  1. With Revit closed, go to the Revit.ini file located at
    • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2023 and finding the Revit.ini file.
  2. Open this file in a Text editor,
  3. Find the Misc section and add the line "DisableRoomAreaSpaceAutomaticLeader = 1"
  4. Save the file.
  5. "Move to Room" option should now be available

You will have to modify that for 2024. I just tried it for 2024, and it worked.
