Hi all,
I believe this threadh was faced many times.
By your experience, what is the best way to cope with the void issue of piping and HVAC system thtrought wall/floor?
Do you use any plug in/dynamo script?

Unfortunately, I can’t check this file today because I have Revit 2019 installed. And I can’t reproduce your error. Try changing the beam profile, moving the pipe, connecting the file with the pipes as a link... Maybe this will help to understand why this error occurs.
Best regards, Pavel Plotitsyn.

With walls and floors is working properly.
With structural beams/columns I receive a message telling me that the process is not supported.
You can try to reverse the select in the interference check (pipe then beam); however; As per the product description, it only supports wall, floor, ceilings and roofs...Same is stated in the popup prompt message (see below) ...but again how can one expect a complete solution packaged all for free
Tools4BIM most probably do have an add in which can host openings in Structural framing and columns but I guess that would be the paid version of this one

Hi,
I am just wondering if the troubles comes from Revit or from the free version. Because this pop up .
The issue is definitely not from Revit...I can cut openings in structural framing and columns using Dynamo; hence, no issue in the Revit element/category.
A wild guess would be "the free version" usually those come with limited options... There is a trial download for the paid version "Cut Openings 2020" you can download and try it out to verify
I personally prefer to stick to Dynamo
NOTE: I am guessing that "Cut Openings Free" and the trial version of "Cut Openings 2020" are two different things

The free version does not allow to solve Structural Beam/Columns opening
I am sorry.
I am messing around with my personal and commercial account.
By the way, the free version does not allow to solve structural column/beams connection.
ok
and if it doesn't why are you marking everything as solutions lol

Hi XXalessio.amodioXX,
you can test the new plug-in conVoid ( https://www.conclass.tech/convoid ), which converts openings and tracks changes based on all kinds of IFC and/or Revit-Elements. It is an advanced openBIM workflow for converting and coordinating all types of voids between architects, structural engineers, and mep-engineers.
Let me know if you need more information.
Kind Regards
Pelle
