Revit Newbie Alert!
I have an AutoCAD file containing Polyface Meshs. When I either Link CAD or Import CAD it comes in as 1 block. I can't select any of the individual Polyface Mesh items like I can in AutoCAD. Is there a way to accomplish this?
To put them on a new layer. I would like Revit to respect my ACAD layers.
The layers are deeply respected by Revit and under Object Styles > Imported Objects.
Ok I can see that. I am importing the Revit file into VR and in the end need to select certain items and pull the metadata like layer name. The problem is in VR the model acts the same as it does in Revit, it's one big block. I try and select an item and everything gets selected. I'm thinking there is no solution. Thoughts?
No sir. But I'm thinking I can load them in section by section and append them as I go. Can you link or import multiple files CAD files into single Revit session?
Which plugin are you using in Revit to export to VR? There are a number of different solutions and there may be an easier way for you to acheive what you are trying to do.
