Attach floor to a complex mass

image.pngimage.png

Hi everybody,

I would like to know if it possible to attach multiple floor to this mass here,

i have assign "Mass Floors" in "Modify / Mass" but can't seem to convert a mass floor into a floor of this model.

The model is only the shell as seen when i selected it.

Thanks you.

Your mass is a thin shell, it need to be a solid form of the entire building so that the levels can intersect it to create mass floors.

If that is the only mass you have got then just a plan view cut right at the floor level, create normal floor by sketch boundary and draw the sketch between the exterior and interior faces of the wall, then join the floor with the wall (switch join order if necessary so the wall stays intact and the floor is trimmed).

Maybe in the OP's case this is true, but not in all cases.

Thanks for replying, I have try to create the floor like you suggested, on the left picture is the floor inside the wall boundaries : " can't cut joint element " , And yes I have try to switch the others when joining but no luck.

but when I sketch the floor larger then the wall then joining the two is fine.

Do you have any ideas to fix this. I would like the floor to be inside the walls

Thanks a gain for your help.

7zip is free, just a friendly suggestion, no offense what so ever.

Too bad for you then. Not me.

Here's what I think I'd do. Hard to know for sure since I don't have WinZip to be able to test. Get my drift?

1. Create Mass Floor from Mass

2. Create Floor by Face from that Mass Floor. Now I should have Floor that look like a "Band Joist"  buried inside the Mass Form.

3. Create a Basic Floor using Pick Lines tool and picking inside face/edge of Band Joist for my closed loop Floor boundary to follow.

If that failed, I try @ToanDN's suggestion and then some variations there of.
