Is there a way in Revit 2022 to create stairs and have the option of riser at top and riser at bottom? The functionality of the stair tool seems to be reduced since Revit 2016. Now if I create a stair from Ground FFL to First FFL, there's a tread at the level of First FFL, which is inconvenient. And as a workaround, I need to create a stair from Ground FFL to (First FFL minus one riser height). Shouldn't be this fussy.
Has revit hidden this option within stairs or removed it completely?
Also, I can cut and paste stairs from the old version to the new version, but alas, I can't functionally edit them.
Here's a screenshot of the Revit 2016 stair options, at the first window when you go to "Edit Type"

Thanks ToanDN. What do you mean by "tab on a run". Still can't find those options.
Hover your mouse cursor over the stairs, press TAB key on the keyboard to highlight a Run (or a Landing), before click the mouse button to select it..
okay cool. Tried that. Don't get an option to select anything, get the error sound from revit....
I just created a new file to share so it wasn't huge, pasted the stairs in and I can now select the run. So weird. Any idea where in the settings I've disabled this on my original file?

Maybe the stairs is pinned and you have Select Pinned elements disabled.
nope, checked that already. I can select the whole set of stairs, but can't tab to select landing, stringer, or run.

You can select the assemble stairs and Edit Stairs, then you can access the components in the editing environment.
If you still want to know why, maybe share that file then. You can delete everything except for the stairs and the view where you can't access components of the stairs.
would love to know why! Thanks for your help. Here's the file. Stairs with stringers are R22, stairs without were upgraded with file from R16. Maybe that's it - that the file has upgraded? File attached... ![]()

Those are NOT assembled stairs, but legacy Sketch stairs. There are no components to modify and you need to Edit Type to access the options.
okay, so when I tried to tab in the file I sent you, I can select the runs. Same file, just deleted everything else. Not sure what's going on. Very strange.
bit confused now. Could do what you originally posted, and select the run:

There is no issue with the assembled stairs in the file you posted.
