I mean: for design and manufacturing: mulions, transoms, glasses orders etc.
I see more and more Aluminium plants get "Revit" as the architectures offices start to work with "Revit".
In "Revit" u can draw a "general" curtain wall, but i need it for manufacture design plans.
Is "Inventor" better?
I use 25 yrs, 3D "Autocad" for this design, can i "slide" into a new software?
Regards.
It all comes down to workflow more than what is the best software. Revit has limitation such as it cannot model anything less than 0.781mm (1/32"). If you have any line or extrusion component that is smaller than that, then Revit may not be the software to utilized that. You may want to check out Inventor or SolidCAD for that type of level of detail.
If you want to coordinate with Architects using Revit and use it to create shop drawing, then it is perfectly fine to use Revit.
For fabricators, Inventor. For curtain wall detailers that need to collaborate with architects using their models, Revit.
