Arraying a fixed dim slat/joist who's numbers increase with the length of a family

Hello,

I'd like to model some sauna T&G cladding. So far I've been doing one of the following:

1. Bring a generic metric family into the project and copy/paste - not very clever.

2. Bring the generic metric family into a curtain wall panel family and then divide up a curtain wall in the project.

Problem with number two is that I want the dims of the slat profile to remain the same, rather than flex with the curtain wall grids. Ideally, I'd like to pull the curtain wall handle along and have these fixed-dim T&G boards multiply when the lengthe allows another to come into existence.

If anyone can shed any light on how to do this or where there's a good tutorial or even key words to use when I google that would be mighty helpful!

Thanks

  1. Edit the type of the curtain wall and set the Vertical and the horizontal layout to a Fixed Distance
  2. Also if it helps, you can on the properties palette set the Justification of the Vertical and Horizontal to Beginning

=> the slates should then align to the beginning and a slate is added when either the length or height meets the fixed distance you have set in step 1 above

Holy cow! That was much quicker and simpler than I thought. It worked straight away!

Thanks so much that has saved me a lot of time!
