Area Deduction Schedule

Hi,

i have 2 area schedules, one is gross floor area, the other is deduction area.

i was wondering if i can combine them together and get the right amount in total,

example; gross area 1700 sqft - deduction area 150 sqft = total 1550sqft

thank you.

Add a parameter to enter the deducted value to the Gross Floor Are schedule, and add a Calculated value to do the math for you.

- You have to manually match up and update the value from the Deduction Area schedule to the new parameter above

- Or you can create a Dynamo script to so it for you if they are constantly changing and/or there are many

Is Deduction Area a formula driven project parameter associated in the project to Areas? Is it not included when you create the schedule?

Unfortunately there's a better way of doing it!

i created a Yes/No Parameter called Deductible,

then i created a Calculated Value that goes like this;

and then you show the total calculation for it and then you see this;

Capture1.PNG

ta-da!!!!

so with all the respect to Dynamo, we don't need it for now.
