I have to upgrade to Autocad 2019 for the Architecture option so that I can use the custom pallets and tools of my primary client. I would also like to become skilled in Revit so as to have more saleable skills. I am wondering if I upgraded to Revit if the Autocad Architecture custom pallets would work. So basically, I know I won't have revit functionality in Autocad, but do I have Autocad functionality in Revit? I don't really need the full design suite with civil 3d, Infraworks etc. Just Architecture and REvit and looking for cheapest way to get that. Thanks

Slightly longer version...
AutoCAD and Revit are completely different, right down to the core programming. Even the customization methods are different between the two, so you won't be able to transfer any of that. Your best bet is to completely put aside AutoCAD when learning Revit - learn to use Revit as Revit and you'll be far better off.
That's not to say you should completely dump one for the other. AutoCAD is still better for 2D schematics and banging out quick drawings, especially when the recipient is expecting DWG content.

... you can open Autocad in REVIT as a guide for some designs
... but it is better only to link those
... try to use as less as possible dwg in REVIT
... it will slow your work a lot

Holy cow! I was going to suggest Building Design Suite, but Autodesk is no longer selling it. It looks like AutoCAD and Revit are a la carte now -- and way pricier! Plus, you know Autodesk is Subscription only now. If I were you, I'd enroll in a community college and get the educational versions (same as full versions) for free. Might be cheaper paying tuition, than it is paying Autodesk.
You didn't hear that from me.
