Hello community,
I'm looking for idea or solution for a problem with architecture detailed tag.
What i mean.. In my country our architects show up detailed layer specification for room in section view.
We have defined walls with layers, floor with layers, ceiling with layer and rooms. I mean all needed data is in our model.... but problem is how to extract this data in best and fastest way ![]()
I try to avoid using of drafting views and free text notes. I try to find automated solution with complete set of data without hand writing.
Here i will post some picture for show the situation. Red tag contain information about all vertical finishes from floor to ceiling.
I try with material tag but this coast too much time and we must tag all elements 1 by 1.
I'm just stuck in this problem and i havent good solution for this problem.
I will be happy if someone have solution or idea for fix the problem.
Thanks in advice!
Best Regards!

Hi Winsis32,
I think the most efficient way to do what you are asking is to create a Dynamo script that looks for all the system family types (walls/floors/etc.) that you want to tag and extracts the material composition that make up their construction. Then you could create another script that outputs that information into a Multi-line text tag by element. Unfortunately, I am not an expert in script creation, but there is a lot of support in the Dynamo community at http://dynamobim.org/.
Good luck!
Jill
I tried your idea with dynamo. Its work on basic logic but we have a problems with duplicating the text after rerun the script. If we make clear solution for the problem i will share ![]()

Should the script include a clear existing value before pasting in the new one in?
no
