Architectural Design Firm in need of network for Revit collaboration & Rendering

I work for a small architectural design firm with 9 employees and most of using Revit (some using autocad).  We have adequate computers that are all custom built to handle Revit.  Our issue is we are using a MY Cloud Personal Storage Device right now where all of our files live, and when multiple people are working in one revit file and we go to sync it is taking a long time, as well as with rendering.  My question is what we should go with, an actual server dedicated for the revit and autocad files where we would sync to and work off of and for rendering get another server that is dedicated just for rendering?  I know a decent amount about computers and hardware/software but servers are way out of my wheelhouse.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a NAS...Unless you are on BIM 360, working on a cloud server is not suggested.
