ArchiCAD to Revit

Hi guys,

I have someone wanting to send us and ArchiCAD file which we will then want to open in Revit.

I'm not sure of the ArchiCAD file type, but does anyone have any experience in this and if this is something that can be done?

I'm assuming the only way is via IFC, but am hoping there is another option.

Thanks in advance

IFC or Export to DWG....  Depends on what you plan on doing with the info.

Basically we want to get good floor plans/ elevations off their model.

They've sent us DWG's, which frankly are rubbish, so we were hoping to take their model, put it into Revit and produce our own, but as an IFC that won't work well either.

No worries, didn't have high hopes!

Yep...basically you will need to rebuild everything in Revit if you want a decent model.

Else, work in ArchiCAD, which isn't a bad thing.
