Hi,
I'm experimenting with Revit trying to get data from 3DS Max into it. I've currently got a .3ds file that I've sent through AutoCAD and saved as a .dwg file for import into Revit.
The reason I'm using a .3ds file is because when I save directly to a .dwg from 3DS Max, the specific layer that the texture is applied to on the component doesn't exist.
Additionally, when I apply the texture to the CAD component, it doesn't seem to have any knowledge about the previously set up UV map that was completed in 3DS Max. Is this to be expected? Does Revit not understand UV space?
Also, as a bonus question, what is the correct way to import from 3DS Max to Revit? My way is a bit too complex really, I'd like to simplify it if possible.
Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the reply.
I'd actually like to do it the other way around, using 3DS Max for the modelling and stuff, with applied UV maps and then use Revit for the presentation. Is this possible?
