I have created a material library that I recently updated. When I updated the library, the appearance assets in the asset browser didn't update. The materials look right if I view them in the material browser, but if I try to open the library in the asset browser, it never got updated. Is there a way you have to update the library so it updates in the asset browser too?
The OOTB Assets are write-protected, so I'm not what sure you did or are trying to do. Can you describe your workflow?
I created a brand new material library with my own materials in it. I then loaded that material library into a new project. I made changes in the material browser by adding the materials to the project, modifying them, then adding them back to the library and overwriting the old material. If I load the library into another project, the materials are correct if I want to add the material to the project. But if I open it up in the asset browser to try and replace an asset instead of loading the entire material, it displays the incorrect assets, not the ones that are in the current version of the material library.

do you know what you are doing? I don't. You might want to start reading from here.
more like, start reading here
Which I have read. I have achieved making my own material library. And it seems to work as expected. Except for the if I open it up in the asset browser.
Under Manage>Additional Settings>Material Assets I can change the name of the Assets that didn't get updated by doing it the other way (it's weird some of them got changed when I updated the materials from the Material Brower but not others). But, I'm still having issues changing the image files for the appearance assets. I change them, but no matter what I click, when I open the Asset Browser up again, they are not changed.
