Apartment tag vs. room tag

For my apartment building, I'd like to have an overall plan of each floor, showing all 4 apartments, and then an enlarged plan, showing half the building. I know that I can use the "department" parameter for apartments and IIRC there is another parameter for department area.

I'd like to have most tags (room tags, door tags, partition tags, etc) in the enlarged plans but for the overall plan, I'd like to use a tag for each apartment. The tag would be like the attached clip. Is it possible to create this, an automate it so that it's not just text but parameters (or would they be labels?).

I've just created my first title block, by the way, and am comfortable using labels there, plus I added a revision schedule.

Before suggesting solutions to your request, it would be useful to define how you calculate your apartment versus your room areas.

Depending on the type of apartment (ex. Rental vs condo) and local regulations, apartment areas may either be calculated to the center, inside or outside face of wall while room areas may have different rules.

Thus will become important when deciding to use the department parameter or alternative techniques Revit offers.

Could you quickly sketch where the apartment areas need to be on your attached example plan?

I'm not clear what the question is, but Tags are View-Specific Elements, so you can Tag the same element differently in different Views.  Also, you can automate  the process of Tagging elements in a View via "Tag All".

This is where area plan tag come in handy. Normally I would create area plan so you have ability to tag the area as your apartment tag and room separately.
