If this just needs to look right, and the door doesn’t need to function as a door, and the wall doesn’t need to function as a wall, this is the easiest way:

Create a bar array family, a cage frame family, and a door frame family.

Let the bar array be continuous, so that the array provides bars for both the wall and the door.

If you want them to be separate, you will need to nest some more families, and use some formulas to align all of these arrays.

Here’s a simple method.

Create a bar family, which you can then best inside a bar array.

The bar family is a simple extruded cylinder:

Then create a bar array family.

You may have to play with the parameters so that it does what you want.

Rounding distances can make arrays provide an extra element which is outside of where you want it.

When I create a family with array elements where I need to specify spacing (like an array of studs), I will make sure the driving formula never produces too many elements, and add another parameter (“extra studs”, or something), which is an integer, so I can add a stud to the array if rounding brings me up short.

The bar array is simple:

Make a simple frame family with an extrusion that allows you to move the door around and specify it’s height and width:

You can put the door right in the frame family, but I find families perform better if they’re simple, and don’t contain geometry which is close to other geometry it might accidentally attach to.

So I’d create a separate door family:

Then create a family for the assembly, insert the three nest families you’ve created, and assign parameters.

When you’re building the nesting families, your parameters usually should be instance parameters.

At the top family level, you can just change them to type parameters if you want your family to be typed.

You can fancy it up as much as you want, but minimizing complexity by nesting families is always helpful, especially when families don’t perform properly. Simple, nested families are easier to troubleshoot.

Explore Curtain Walls for this. Looks like Vertical and Horizontal Mullions with Empty System Panels to me.
