We have our Dimension Style's Read Convention" set at "Left, then Up", which works fine for most dimensions.
But, if we're dimensioning an object that runs from the Upper-Left of the display to the Lower-Right, the text reads upside-down.
Is there a way to correct this?

My dimensions are never upsidedown. I'm not even sure I would know how to do an upsidedown dimension. Never really tried until now. I just rotated a view on a sheet in my previous post.
I have never had any upside-down dimensions either.
But, today, there they are.
They are not acceptable.
That dimension in the photo is a quite normal dimension, just upside down text.
Anyone out there have a solution.

Are you saying you can't correct it??? I'd be hopping mad. I'd be on the phone to Autodesk.
I think I have seen that happen when I rotated a view. If you rotate a view on a sheet, the words and dimensiones rotate with the view...
dont get me started...i dont need no hopping around...
Well, that's embarrassing for REVIT
I've been with this firm for so long I can't remember. At least 15 years.
All that time on AutoCAD. Now REVIT.
All the boss cares about is how the finished sheet looks.
It's hard to explain why some we've been doing for decades is no longer possible.
Surely there is a solution.
Anyone out there with an answer?
Are you saying the upsidedown text is because of the view is rotated on the Sheet? If so, rotate the View Crop Boundary.
If I rotate the view to make that one dimension correct, then many of the dimensions that are currently correct will become incorrect.
I tried it.
See the sketch above. All except the one upside dimension are correct.
If I add another dimension running from upper-left to lower-right, that dimension will be upside-down.
Again, anyone out there with a solution ?
I'm not fully understanding. Are you saying that you cannot get it upright in the VIEW itself? That this is only happening upon placing the View on the Sheet?
On the Sheet A2.2, there is a View 8/A2.2 of the Cross Walk on the Site drawing.
We activate the View and place the dimensions.
Again, all of the dimensions are correctly oriented, except those running from Upper-Left to Lower Right.
Any help out there ?
"any help out there?"...
uhhh..this is what help looks like.
Maybe its time to post the file itself,
Okay, I get it. What I was suggesting was to NOT rotate the View on the Sheet, but rather rotate the View's Crop Boundary instead. Does that workflow correct the upside-down text issue?
I can take one of my drawings, place it on a sheet, activate it, add dimensions, and everything works the way its supposed to..
I can take that same drawing, place it on a sheet and add a rotation to the view. then go activate it, and add a dimension... some of those dimensions are upside down...
That's your issue, there is a rotation that has been applied to that view on the sheet...
again...
i can take my same drawing, and rotate the crop view as Bradley suggested, prior to placing on the sheet, and the dimensions all show correctly..
I want to thank both George & Bradley for their explanation.
I just recently started work on this drawing and hadn't noticed that the original drafter had rotated the view.
This is another example of how truly useful these discussion groups are.
Again, THANKS -Klyphy
Ive noticed that using Revit is a lot like playing Super Mario... you can go for weeks or months without finding the secret passage ways.. then occasionally you bump your head on a coin that you didnt know was there, or smash your face through a brick wall to find a hidden treasure...
Then you get hit replay and do it again....for hours....

You're welcome.
You can give more than one Solution Credit. Solution Credits are always appreciated. One more today and I get a free toaster. ![]()
so...... how do you like your toast?
