It happened again - an attempt is being made to take a drafting from from a brand spanking new template which has never had an older version, to an older project.

Need I say more?
Brainstorming, folks - less storm and more brain, please. I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Here are some of my coherent thoughts -
Option 1 - recreate the required details
Option 2 - use freezedwg - but I have read things about it. Awful things, that make me want to run screaming into the darkness
Option 3 - convert the drafting view into an image - the option for which is available in Revit. However I don't think that anyone deserves to endure the mess that the union of vector and raster can make.
Thoughts, ideas, tools, plug-ins, please?
Export drafting view to DWG and import back in to the older version.

@loboarch Any non-DWG approaches?
Not that I can think of. It is just lines anyhow, there is nothing you are losing by doing this.
You can change the DWG vectors back to Revit objects if it really mattered or you needed some ability to edit.
