Hi,
Just downloaded and installed Revit 2017 and 2016 (separate times and uninstalled 2017 before installing 2016) on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1.
Graphics NVIDIA Quadro K620 (control panel version 8.1.1030.0) - Have installed latest driver R367 U4 (369.26), Direct X runtime 11.0 Windows updates are always up to date, windows default firewall and windows defender are active, I use free version of Avira antivirus and NAP is off.
As soon as I double click the just created desktop Revit icon to open the program for the very first time, the startup "blue" image appears for only 3 seconds before the whole PC freezes including mouse, keyboard, clock, everything. Just suddenly stops ALL, actually the PC tower stops the flashing disk reading and fans too, it is crazy. The only thing I can do is to restart the computer.
I've tried 3or more times with each installation and it behaves exactly the same way, so it seems that I have an incompatible software somewhere? but AutoCad 2016 works perfectly. Just Revit won't work for me... If Win7-64 is supported, I can't understand why this happens at all.
I cannot provide any error info, screenshot or journal file created because it does not show any error, just sudden and absurdly freeze the whole PC with both versions. I'm attaching a 20 sec video to illustrate what happens. Not even ctrl+alt+del does anything...
I have installed version 2012 before and it worked fine but I need now to update to work with the school's version.
Should I just uninstall and try 2015 version? ... it seems it will do the same to me after have tried 2016 and 17 though...
I have installed all Autodesk software directly from the autodesk download site. Should I download it first and install when I have downloaded the full files instead?
What should I do? Please, it seems absurd it happens.
Note as well that I'm getting education free copies coz I'm currently a student and need Revit!!
Any thoughts and help are REALLY appreciated!! I'm lost...
Thanks in advance!

Issue updates:
1. Revit Viewer in any version works perfectly but of course cannot save or save as any file.
2. License Transfer Utility (installed with Revit) also freezes the machine completely if try to open it.
3. I have tried to install version 2015 and it does the same (freeze all) but launches for 1 second the startup window
after the 'red' image loading.
4. Reinstalled Revit 2016 but this time downloading the data to my hard disk and installing from there, and guess... yes,
just freezes again...
5. I've disconnected every hardware and usb port, i've tried without the LAN cable connected too, using standard mouse and
keyboard and using the CPU standard DVI port. But all seems to be the same.
I may need to buy this software someday soon but I really need to be able to run it on my current machine, which is pretty
good I reckon!
Appreciate any help... thank you!
Normally the first thing I would try would be updating the graphics driver from the NVIDIA web site (not from Autodesk, or allowing Windows to) but you have done this it seems.
One possibility is that the WSCommCntr4.exe process is getting 'stuck'. In Windows Task Manager, go to the Processes tab, right click on WSCommCntr4.exe and choose End Process from the context menu
Could also be a .NET issue - try a clean uninstall and then also uninstall .Net, before doing a re-install
Another thing I have had to do in the past was manually delete the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM folder
I would also check that you are installing under full Administrator rights
