I make frequent use of Temporary View Properties as part of my workflow. The last couple days, after I select "Enable Temporary View Properties", work in another view, and return to the first view, I find that it has switched to a recent template under "Temporarily Apply Template Properties..." The behavior is intermittent, and very frustrating.
It's possible that I'm merely selecting the wrong option in the View Properties pop-up, but I don't think so, as I had been working in the view and would have noticed the incorrect template.
I have searched for a method of purging the Recent Template list, similar to deleting Recent Files from Revit.ini, but have found no solution. I have not tried the registry yet.
Any insights?
Thanks,
Randall
I'm definitely not selecting the wrong option in the pop-up. I was very conscious of that this morning, and it's happened again. Now that I'm watching for a pattern, of course, it isn't repeating.
Also, the Recent Templates list isn't in the registry.

I have a similar issue.
We use View Templates for our views. I tell my users not to edit the View Templates, but instead, use Temporary views. Every once in a while when we select temporary views, the view goes haywire. Objects turn on, view depth seems to go through the building, "dogs and cats, living together, mass hysteria"!
As if this wasn't annoying enough, when we turn it off, the view stays in chaos, even though the View Template is still selected and active.
I have no clue as to a fix for this. We are using the tools as designed. We are also an electrical construction company, so we are used to Revit not playing nice for us, so just another day in Revit paradise.
If anybody finds a solution for this issue, or a work-around, please let us know.
Thank you.
Instead of disaable temporary template try to create views for work only and select template <none>
