Confused again about Revit Updates.
We have Revit 2019.1 (build Version 19.1.0.112) currently installed. This was released Released Aug 15, 2018.
We installed this shortly after it was released.
NOW, we get word that a new update was just released Oct 17th... Revit 2019.0.2 (build Version 19.0.20.1)
Why would the update and build numbers increment down... instead of up.

Well, looks like sometime after I posted this... the below text showed up in the release notes.
Warning: By applying this Security Fix, you will not be able to apply previously released Revit 2019.1 Update. This is intended behavior as this set of fixes are for individuals whom do not have access to the Revit 2019.1 Update. Future Revit 2019 Updates for subscription contract users will be able to apply onto the Revit 2019.0.2 Security Fix.
I would assume then that this Revit 2019.0.2 Security Fix can be totally ignored if, as a subscription customer you installed Revit 2019.1 Update... and that future updates can be applied as they are released.
I for one would really like to encourage Autodesk to make some effort to clean up Revit Fixes and Updates going forward. (Perhaps they have tried). I would like a comment added to How-to-tie-the-Build-number-with-the-Revit-update.html (shows them in out of order released?)
A release date would be well also.
Hello @mdhutchinson
Thank you for your post and welcome to the community!
Good questions, I worked with my team regarding your post and tried to get the referenced article updated. To be clear you are indeed in the correct location to find that information. How to tie the Build number with the Revit update
The 2019.02 Security Fix update was only intended for people without subscription, and as you are a subscription client you do not need to update.
The release date is shown in the build #, this is not an exact date but a good ball park figure.
If you study the image above the build number and or release date is 2018_09_27 or 9/27/2018, does this make sense?
Another place to find the specific release can be found in see also per the How to tie the Build number with the Revit update, specifically the article Released Revit 2019 Updates & Add-ins
Lastly to help clarify the security fixes and what is included with each, please see this article link.

Thanks sooo much for the clarification and for the modification to How to tie the Build number with the Revit update . This clears up my confusion.
Great information. I need some clarification. are these numbered Release a full release. for instance, are these below a full release or an update to the already installed Revit software? Also, Revit uses 2019.1 is an update or a full release. I know some of you will say "who cares just install". I need to know based on my install process. We package and push out to users and we have a method to push out service packs. but if it is a full release, I have to re-package.
