Annotative dimensions are different from temporary dimensions.

I want to dimension a residence and there is a difference between the annotation dimension and the temporary dimensions. I adjusted elements such as walls and windows to where I want them with temporary dimensions and then started doing the annotation dimensions.

But there was a difference between what the temporary dimensions and annotative dimensions for the same elements and they were only off an eighth or a few sixteenths of an inch. I checked to make sure I was dimensioning to the same reference points (core faces) but they are still off. Attached is a screen shot showing the difference.

Also, is there a way to add temporary dimensions to an element? For example. If I have a long wall

and several windows and doors in that wall, when I click on an element it will have a few temporary dimensions between that element and others. Is there a way to add more temporary dimensions between the original element and the other elements in that wall?

Thanks

Rick

I suppose the used Dimension Style overrides the Project Units style.

The dimension is different because it has another number of decimals and probably a rounding

If you want to turn a temporary dimension into permanent , then click on the small symbol nearby the dim line..

I checked the dimension style and the units format "set to project standards" box was checked.

Revit is still giving me two different numbers for the same measurement. When I click on an object such

as a window or door the temporary dimensions are different from the aligned dimension.

For the annotative dimensions I am using faces of core. Are the temporary dimensons also going to faces

of core?

The annotative dimensions and the temporary dimensions seem to be picking a different place in the

wall to start off from. Is there a way to check that the temporary dimensions are measuring from

the faces of core like the annotative dimensions are?

That's it!

Thanks!

Sometimes when framing a building, a big hammer is used to nudge

members into place. I was just about to do that with my computer.
