Annotate details in families

Hi,

when I add annotate details in my families, they are only visible in a 2D section orthogonal to the family or rather parallel to the detail.

But when my family is slanted in two directions there will never be a perfect orthogonal or parallel section. Does that mean the details can not be used in a family which is slanted in two directions?

Text notes will only be visible in orthogonal view. That is expected behavior.

I am trying to understand what it is that you mean by 'slanted in two directions'. Do you mean a 3D view? In a 3D view, the text will be visible even if you rotate the view. If not, can you share a file or an explanatory screenshot please?

Here are an example:

The family with details inside.

2017_09_06_15_31_43_Autodesk_Revit_2017.2_Ansicht_Rechts_kappe2i_op.rfa_.png

in a section view without rotation

and now the family rotated on 2 levels

and the section view

Detail items will not show when they are not parallel to the view plane. If it happens only occasionally, then add the details directly in the view. More than that, you may need to actually model them in the family.

I would recommend linework in the view. Too much 3D gives Revit indigestion.
