angled curtain wall grid lines distort when wall is sloped

Hello,

I'm having an issue where I am trying to create grid lines that follow the angle of a sloped wall I am designing. I was able to achieve this but I also want the wall to be slanted. However, when I do this in Revit, the angled grid that I created becomes distorted. I've attached pictures showing what happens. If anyone has any suggestions of how else I can achieve this or how to fix this I would greatlyyyy appreciate it. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

It's been awhile since you posted...if you're still wrestling with this...can you share a stripped down file that contains the curtain wall that is doing this?

Hello,

Thank you for the response! I have attached the walls that have the issue.

You've swapped out the system panels for a Basic Wall type which is possible but not when you tilt the X or Y axis of the curtain wall grid. Only the system panels can tolerate the trapezoidal shapes that result.

You can:

  • restore the system panel type (create a new version for the material choices you want)
  • consider using to the Conceptual Massing Environment (CME) using massing and divided surfaces combined with custom adaptive point (4 point) families that can follow the non-rectilinear shape for the panels defined by your layout. You'll also need custom adaptive point (3 point) panel families for the triangular panels that will result.

Why don't you use Roof > Sloped Glazing?
