allow join

Hello to everyone,

I was woundering what does this option do? its says "allow join", but nothing happens, I would expect that the two walls would join together. Here is the link of the picture that I am talking...

Best regards

Allow the walls to join like what you show.  Change it to Disallow join and see what the difference is if you are curious.

By the way, you can embed pictures directly in the post by using the photo button above.

Look for it on your Options Bar when you  place the Walls  -- a dropdown box to select Dissallow or Allow [Automatic] Join. This sets the default join behavior for every wall you place subsequently.

I think I may have misunderstood your question. I think what you are expecting is that Allow Join will automatically clean-up that corner between those two different thickness walls. Unfortunately, sometimes you got to help Revit out by manually dragging the walls end point (blue dot) slightly until it snaps.  And sometimes this will take some finessing.  A little frustrating at times.

you can toggle between allow join, and disallow... sometimes after disallow joins, you may need to drag the end of walls to join... master this skill..pretty helpful when different wall types joining at the same location..... and you may need one wall not to disturb the smooth joins..you can toggle between allow join, and disallow... sometimes after disallow joins, you may need to drag the end of walls to join... master this skill..pretty helpful when different wall types joining at the same location..... and you may need one wall not to disturb the smooth joins..
