ALL REVIT VERSIONS NOT WORKING ON MY LAPTOP

I recently installed revit 2014 on my laptop for a course I'm taking and it doesn't respond. I have downloaded newer versions before this and have the same problem. When the application starts up, it seems everything is fine but as soon as I open the new project and change from imperial template to default metric it becomes really sluggish. Once I try to change the project units revit project window becomes unresponsive.

The ribbon (tabs and panel) is also becomes unresponsive. I am unable to use command shortcuts as well. It drags and loads really slow. I am unable to draw walls and use any other tool in the ribbons. In fact the only thing I seem to be able to operate is the user interface tool. I tried to change browser configuration and it didn't work. I tried to change a name in the file registry and it still didn't work. Currently I cant even see the quick access toolbar on the interface.

I have repaired, reinstalled, and uninstalled. As well as changing between different revit versions and nothing works. It can't be my graphics card because other softwares are working just fine except revit. I really need the software this semester.

If anyone can provide help on this. It would mean the world to me

Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the Autodesk community!

Sorry to hear that you are facing issues.

Working in a Revit model involves interacting with many systems, and if anyone (or more) of those systems have slow performance, the entire experience in Revit can be slowed down.

Please check the below for me:

  • The Windows user account (there can be issues with the level of permissions allowed to the user, or with corruption at the account level)
  • Third party applications and services (that are running at the same time as Revit taking resources away from the system and potentially directly interfering with the program)

Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question. Kudos welcome!
