Hello,
We are having an issue with Revit 2019 that for now seems to be isolated to users on Windows 10.
The issue is that the material browser is cannot find the AEC material file located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\2019 folder. When you right click the folder in the material browser and select locate, and then select the file Revit is trying to access it comes up with the error "Located File is Already in Use by Another Library. Please Select another file.".
None of the installations on a Windows 7 workstation has this problem.
All installations were done from a network deployment.
Has anybody seen or had this issue with the most recent versions? Google gave me results from the same error to 2012 but those solutions didn't apply to us.
Thanks,
James

Was this project upgraded from 2018 to 2019? I think there are some issues with upgraded projects and the new 2019 materials.
That doesn't seem to be the issue. They are working on projects that were created with 2019 Revit. I had them start a new project with the default Revit template and still have the same issue within the Material Browser.
Try a Repair on Revit 2019--maybe the Materials Library did not install correctly?
Hi @BKDCreative
Please try closing Revit and reopening it and see if it fixes the problem, and ensure no other user is in the same file when you reboot/ relaunch.

I am currently having the same issue with Revit 2018 projects, they were started with 2015 templates, this problem showed up only after our entire office switched to windows 10 which is causing all kinds of glitches with Revit, but that's for a different thread... This happens to the Revit out of the box libraries (which are stored locally) as well as our in house custom library which is on a network location so that it is available to all Revit users. The problem seems to be random, it affects users who have only reading rights to the folder, as well as users who have writing/editing rights in the folder.
Hi @Anonymous

Yes, he referred me to this thread, so I was adding my 2 cents for now and will let this thread know if they resolve the issue, however since it is random and not a continuous problem, it may take some time to recreate the error.
@Anonymous
That's good to know! I just spoke to him too.![]()
Let us know how it goes.

Update:
Despite restarting Revit and the workstation a couple times on Wednesday last week, when the users logged into their workstation Thursday morning and Revit's material library was able to access the file it couldn't access the previously. I can't explain what happened. It wasn't working for almost a week and then all of a sudden it works now.
I wish I had a reason for this... or a solution in case anybody was also experiencing this.
James
I am also having this problem. Has anyone found a way to resolve the issue?
Hi @gbielicka
Which version of Revit are you using? Can you confirm if you have the latest updates installed for your Revit version?

Hi @FAZIOGREG, @Anonymous, @gbielicka
For those of you who have similar cases going on please see this AKN article:

Hi there @gbielicka
I was in touch with the specialist who worked on @Anonymous case.
We would want to see a screencast of what you are seeing and a recent journal, your error may be related to the article in my previous post, but it may be entirely different. We can confirm after testing.
Please click on 'locate library;' as in the image below to find your missing library and try to re-map the path.
Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.

Nope. Command "Locate Library" brings up the error message "Located File is already in Use By Antother Library. Please select another file."?!? I only have this Problem with Revit 2019. In Revit 2017 it just worked fine.
Hi there,
I'm on Revit 2018
1. Where is the AEC Materials library located to brows to it?
2. Where is the Favorites library located also to brows to it
