Advice for linetype tool on imported Sketchup models

A regular part of what I do is residential remodels and I use the Hover service that makes a Sketchup model from photographs you take of the existing home.  I put that Sketchup model into a Generic Model family and then put that in the construction model.  So far, no problem, easy-peasy.  Eventually I'll need to use the linetype tool to change some of the linework to invisible, or demolished, etc. to represent the work happening.  Usually it's pretty responsive... but sometimes I just absolutely cannot select some of the lines.  I tab, or click a thousand times on it (because some Sketchup lines are stacked many deep in some places) but nothing ever happens/changes.  The problem is most evident when trying to make the line(s) invisible.  It's also very frequent that Revit does not recognize line intersections in plan view when they clearly intersect, or worse won't find the endpoint of a line.  Obviously all lines have two end points, but not in Revitworld somehow.  Is there a better work-flow for this type of thing that might make the imported model less cumbersome or more responsive to Revit's linetype tool?  I feel like I waste a lot of time fighting linetypes.

I used a different technique for importing Sketchup models. I would open them up in FormIt and save as then add them on Revit Platform. Although not fool proof, I found it to give better results than using as Generic Model family.

Hope it helps
