I've got an Adobe Creative Cloud account. But, I can only easily use it on two machines simultaneously. On my PC, which does not have the authorization to use one, when I try to print through the Adobe PDF Revit printer, I get a request to Authorize my Adobe acrobat account.
Is this normal? I thought Revit had its own built-in PDF printing capability?
If this isn't normal, how do I remedy it so I can print to PDF without this issue?
As lame as it sounds, Revit does not have any built-in PDF printing capability. But you can get one of the free PDF printers and they will do the job:
Hmm...in hindsight I guess every station I've ever used had Acrobat installed in it. I has just assumed that, like AutoCAD, Autodesk created their own PDF printer for use inside of Revit. My bad!
Although, I HAVE been able to print with it at times. I'll often get one or two prints out of it before the Adobe license issue pops up. IF I see the Revit print interface allowing me to pick a location to save my file to BEFORE the Acrobat message pops up, I can dismiss the acrobat message and continue my PDF output. I had assumed that this was because I HAD the ability to print PDF from Revit and that Acrobat was butting into the printing process.
