Adjusting chimney height

Hi

I have a problem adjusting the height of the Generic_Models_Masonry_Chimney_Wall component in my Revit model.

I load the family and insert it then I edit the heigh using the Edit Type-Duplicate, however the chimney crown stays at the same height and just becomes thicker, see pictures below (I hope they appear in the message).

EDIT: I am working on Revit 2025

Before - Automatic height of 7300

After - Height adjusted to 5000

Has anyone experienced the same problem or knows of a solution I can try? I'm new to Revit so I don't know much about editing families.

I've attached the .rfa file.

It's from the UK Families pack in the Generic Models folder.

Its just the top part of the chimney that isn't locked to anything, so when you changed the 'Top of Masonry Height'

it appears as a bigger extrusion. As per your second image.

If you can edit the family and lock this to the Ref planes already there that will fix it. See image below

Thanks, that makes sense.

I'll look into how to edit the family object and report back if the solution doesn't work, but I suspect it will.
