You can add parameters to materials, but they will NOT show up in the material browser. You would need to create a schedule with materials and you will be able to see/select the parameter there.
Add Shared Parameters to the objects that carry the material. They will show up in the Schedule. A material shared parameter would be schedulable, but not show the information from your screenshot. Text parameter will be editable and that is the route that I would take.
Playing devil advocate here. I don't see a strong reason to add information such as Manufacturer, Model Number, Cost too the material browser. For very simple example: re-bars and steel plate may have the same material, but one is priced based on length and the other based on area. How would you think the cost of steel to be present in the material browser?
The information you ask are already there for building elements, which is appropriate. Adding them to the material browser is redundant and providing little to no value.
Create a formula driven shared parameter. For floors, for instance, I would create a formula that takes its Area and divides by the number of tiles per square foot of the surface.
